101 London Road
The present No. 101 London Road (left and above) was numbered 23 London Road until 1933. It was purpose-built as a shop
The boot repairer William Smith had this shop in 1921, but he lived in one of the new council houses near Bury Knowle Park, and the 1921 census shows the GWR railway porter Alfred Welham (30) living in the four rooms above the shop with his wife Cecilia (27) and their children Alfred (9), Eileen (6), and Jean (5).
