5G phone masts in Headington area

In parts of Europe, operators are allowed to build masts up to a height of 50m, as taller masts can serve a larger area so that fewer of them are needed. Current UK regulations, however prescribe a maximum elevation of 25m (and 20m in protected areas), which means far more masts are needed.

So far permission has been granted for five 5G mastsand ancillary equipment in Headington. One applications is pending and two have been rejected.
