Buses between Headington and London’s airports

London Oxford Airport

London Oxford Airport is at Kidlington, to the north of the city. There is no direct bus service to Headington, but it is possible to take a bus to Oxford centre and a second bus up to Headington.

Airlin bus

London Heathrow Airport

Airline bus, which runs half-hourly during the day and every two hours during the night from Heathrow direct to Oxford via Headington. Marked OXF when travelling from Heathrow to Oxford, and LHR when travelling from Oxford to Heathrow.

Superb service, stops at three places in Headington before descending the hill down to Oxford:
Headington (Green Road) roundabout / Headington shops / Gipsy Lane (for Oxford Brookes University)

London Gatwick Airport

Airline bus, which runs hourly during the day and every two hours during the night from Gatwick direct to Oxford via Headington. Marked OXF when travelling from Gatwick to Oxford, and LGW when travelling from Oxford to Gatwick.

Good service, but further away than Heathrow and buses are less frequent.
They stop at three places in Headington before descending the hill down to Oxford:
Headington (Green Road) roundabout / Headington shops / Gipsy Lane (for Oxford Brookes University)

London Stansted Airport
London Luton Airport

The 737 service will no longer pass through Headington from 10 February 2020, but will go straight from Gloucester Green to Luton via Milton Keynes.
