The Oxford East constituency was created in 1983. Between the elections of 2005 and 2010, its boundary
changed to include most of the city centre and therefore the majority of the colleges of the University of Oxford.
It was held by the Conservatives for the first four years, then by Labour from 1987 to the present
(Andrew Smith from 1987 to 2017, and Anneliese Dodds from 2017 to the present)
Labour majority: 10,344 in 2001, 963 in 2005, 4,581 in 2010,15,280 in 2015, and 23,284 in 2017
